Cecilia Piscino (CP) obtained her bachelor’s degree in 2020 and during her internship she studied the thermodynamic of synthesis of solar cell materials, particularly CIGS. She took the master’s in Chemical Sciences in 2022 at the University of Genoa (UniGe). Her research activity was focused on the synthesis of the thermoelectric Fe-Ni based skutterudite material using melting-quenching-annealing method and its morphostructural characterization. Currently, CP is a PhD student at UniGe and she’s carrying out her research activity on different skutterudite systems to improve thermoelectric properties using dopant atoms and mono-dimensional structures. These materials, with others, aim to replace fossil fuels to obtain more eco-sustainable electrical energy.
