Francesco Papatola (FP) took the bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology and thanks to his internship period in IIT (NYSN department), he gained experience with the immunofluorescent technique and confocal microscopy. In 2022, FP took the master’s in Medical Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. His research activity was focused on the synthesis of magnetic nanoparticles and their surface functionalization (i.e., antibodies, enzymes) as a smart platform for biomedical applications. For the current PhD position at the university of Genoa (UniGe) his research activity focuses on the synthesis of a new generation of polymers to substitute petrol-based plastic compounds with bio-based products in line with the “European green deal" using his different expertise.
